Developing a Strong Foundation
Teaching math in Kindergarten and 1st Grade can feel like a balancing act. We want to dive deeper by encouraging deep conversation. We also know that writing helps students solidify concepts. How do we do these things with developing writers?
This course bridges that gap by giving you the tools, resources, and confidence to make math notebooks a natural part of your math block.
When you complete Math Notebooks for Grades K–1, you’ll be able to:
✅ Confidently set up and manage math notebooks without adding extra stress to your day.
✅ Encourage students to think deeply about math by sketching, labeling, and sharing their problem-solving.
✅ Use notebooks as a progress-monitoring tool, giving you real-time insight into student understanding.
✅ Build a classroom culture of reflection and growth where students take ownership of their learning.
🚀 Get Ready to Transform Your Teaching
Instead of wondering whether your students are “getting it,” you’ll have notebooks full of authentic evidence of their mathematical thinking. You’ll see how your students process, reason, and explain their answers in their own words and pictures. And students will be able to look back at their notebooks proudly recognizing how far they’ve come.
With Math Notebooks for Grades K–1, you’re not just adding another strategy. You’re creating a system that builds confident learners, simplifies your teaching, and turns everyday lessons into lasting learning.
